Ten years ago, my life took a sharp turn. I got into some trouble and ended up in prison—well, life has a way of taking unexpected turns.
While everyone else around me was missing their former lives and their freedom, the thing I missed the absolute most was my novels.
One day, as I was complaining about it for the hundredth time, my cellmate snapped. He yelled at me: ‘THEN WRITE YOUR OWN, AND YOU CAN READ IT AS MUCH AS YOU WANT!’
I froze. For ten seconds, the room went dead silent. Then, I finally looked at him and said: ‘Great idea.’
That was the spark. I spent the next ten years inside prison writing my own stories, driven by nothing more than raw imagination and zero reference material.
When I was finally released, I walked out of those gates carrying 38 kilograms of notebooks, containing eight entirely different titles. Now, after a year of freedom, I have decided it is finally time to share them with the world.
